The Earthmaster Model C as it arrived, the engine is seized solid and a lot of parts are missing or in boxes. We have a few exploded parts diagrams and some sales literature to help with the re-assembly but this will certainly be an interesting project. This tractor is believed to be the only Earthmaster in the UK, and maybe even Europe! Unfortunately this project will probably be waiting until the winter (2012) but i will try and upload some history sooner.
10/28/12 - 1.50pm
Made a start on the Eathmaster today, a few weeks ago the radiator along with the dynamo and starter went off for reconditioning as they were both hanging off already, this weekend i removed the head and all the ancillary components on the engine, manifold, carburettor, fan etc. The photo below shows what i saw when i got the head off...
One valve on each cylinder is open meaning i could not get oil or diesel in to the bores as it ran straight out the valve! Now the cores are full of used engine oil and diesel, hopefully i will be able to get the sump off and drop the pistons out, because the pistons are so small they have to come out the bottom because the big ends are actually larger then the resident bore. Below is a photo of the manifold and carburettor assembly post removal.
Finally below is a photo of the interesting axle mounting. It uses an A-frame which fixes at the rear most point to a bracket just behind the sump, this photo also shows the thin tin sump.
THIS PROJECT HAS BEEN PAUSED TEMPORARILY WHILST WE DO A CHASSIS SWAP ON A 1971 SERIES IIA LAND ROVER, THE TRACTOR IS DRY STORED AND WE WILL COME BACK TO IT. THE LAND ROVER WILL ALSO BE ON THIS SITE.
